M and M Betta Rescue

A small home-based betta rescue on the Space Coast of Florida! The goal is to rehab sick bettas from big box pet stores and to adopt them out to good homes.

Adoptable Bettas
ADOPTION FEE INFO
There is NO ADOPTION FEE. Adopters are screened on how well they'll take care of the fish and then given them for free. However, each tank setup cost me about $160 + the sick fish + medicine, so anything donated to help offset that cost is very appreciated because I am a broke, minumum wage college student with low hours and it came from out of pocket.
ADOPTABLE BETTAS:
Francis (Adoptable now)
Francis is very energetic despite his long fins and will require more than 5 gallons and multiple hiding spots. He prefers to swim all around his tank over resting. He seems like he might be aggressive to other fish and need a solitary tank. He doesn't mind people.Dracula (Adoptable on 5/30/26)
Dracula has a medium amount of energy and prefers exploring and picking at things near the sand over swimming in open water. He'll need a 5 (or more) gallon tank with plenty of plants and hiding spots. His fins are long and delicate, so NO sharp objects or plastic plants they can snag and tear (again) on. He seems mild mannered and may get along with tankmates (NO bettas or tetras because they will nip his fins). He likes to stop and inspect everything in his tank.Orion (Adoptable in June or July)
Orion seems very curious and will swim out from his hiding spots to look at you through the glass. He likes to explore and will need lots of hiding spots and resting places. He has long, delicate fins that are easy to tear so he cannot have any plastic plants or rough/sharp surfaces.

We need supplies for these fish! Donations will go towards buying emergency battery powered air pumps, medications if needed, plants, and enrichment items. Also for rescuing more sick bettas if the stores won't surrender them for free. Money donations or donations of the items themselves are very, very appreciated (if you are local, I can pick items up)!
We Need...
Money donations to continue buying any medication that is needed, plants, and hides for the fish.
We need battery powered air pumps to keep the filters going during hurricane season.
Each tank setup cost about $160, and it came out of my own pocket so anything to help me financially recover from that would be amazing too as I'm a broke college student in a minimum wage, low hours job.
Before and After
Before and after photos of the bettas in my care as they've healed and became adults!
Orion- Halfmoon male, Adopted 5/8/26. He will be up for adoption when he is healthy. He came home emaciated with severe swim bladder issues, bloating, ich (parasite) and fin tears. He's doing much better already. He's showing signs of metallic blues on his fins and he has pretty blue eyes.
Francis- Doubletail Halfmoon male, Adopted 4/20/26. He is ready for a home and is very active. He came home with fin tears. His tail has healed and he's gotten his color back.
Misa- Halfmoon Female, Adopted 4/12/26. She is not for adoption, personal pet. She came home with swim bladder issues, bloating, and fin rot. She's doing great.
Miso- Halfmoon Male, Adopted 2/22/26. He is not for adoption, personal pet. He was my first betta and came home with no major health issues.
